The Fall Golf Weekend Packing List That Leaves Room for the Good Part

Fall golf trips have a small wardrobe problem. The first tee feels like November. The back nine remembers it is still September.

The answer is not packing more. It is packing pieces that can change jobs.

Start with one lightweight quarter-zip, one wind-resistant outer layer and two shirts that work on the course without looking strange at lunch. Add a clean pair of shoes for dinner. Golf shoes should not have to negotiate a restaurant floor after eighteen holes.

Bring two pairs of socks per round. This sounds excessive until the morning dew wins. A spare glove belongs in the same category. So does a small towel that has not already spent three seasons living at the bottom of the bag.

The weather kit is simple: compact umbrella, sunscreen, lip balm and a cap without an emotional attachment. Wind has a sense of humor.

For the room or rental house, pack one soft layer, comfortable pants and something easy to put on while everyone argues about dinner. A small speaker is useful. Six people trying to connect to it at once is less useful.

The other thing worth planning is the transition after the round. Return the cart. Clean the clubs. Shower. Drink water. Eat. Make sure the driving for the day is completely finished.

For adults 21+, ELEVATE Dragon Fruit Gummies can be considered only after golf, travel and every other coordination-heavy part of the day is over. The current resealable pouch contains 30 soft-chew gummies with a tropical dragon-fruit flavor. Review the package directions and available Certificate of Analysis before use, and keep the pouch secured away from children and pets.

ELEVATE does not belong in a golf cart, on the first tee or anywhere near the drive back to the hotel. It belongs—if it belongs in the weekend at all—to the settled part of the evening when the keys are down and the scorecard has stopped mattering.

The best packing list makes the trip feel easier without becoming the trip. Bring the useful things. Leave room for the second half.

Good days have a second half.
